The F-15 has had millions of dollars lost due to fod (foreign object debris). There is no wonder why. Look at the intake ramps. The F-15 is more like a giant hoover on the ground. So why not fix the problem and invert the ramps? There is the same amount of air flow and to the engine there is no difference. There is also plenty of space to run hydraulics under the intake instead of on top. Just about all fighter aircraft have the same design with intakes pointed right at the ground. Engineers should really have thought of this before I did.
